Order Of Operations

Order of Operation #1: This is a simple problem with exponents, multiplication, addition, and subtraction.
Order of Operation #1-Wrong: This is a rework of the first order of operation completed without following the rules.
Order of Operation #2: A more complex problem to solve.

Integers and Exponents
Here you will find some addition help working with integers. This covers addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Exponents: Understanding how to work with exponents is important when we move into simplifying and solving equations.
Adding and Subtracting Integers Overview: This is a simple video with an overview--with examples--of adding and subtracting positive and negative integers.
Addition of Integers: Here are some examples of adding positive and negative integers.
Subtration of Integers: This aspect of integers gives students the most trouble. Keep working with it until you feel comfortable. Review the Adding and Subtracting Integers Overview as needed.
Multiplication and Division Examples: After working with addition and subtraction of integers, I think you will find multiplication and division much easier.

Variable Expressions
Working with variables can be a bit overwhelming the first time you see them. With a bit of studying and practice, you will be able to simplify most expressions. This becomes very important when you need to solve equations.

Simplifying Variables with Like Terms: Combining like or similar terms is paramount to simplifying expressions.
More Simpifying
Polynomial Sum: Here you will take two polynomials and add them. This is similar to combining like terms.
Polynomial Difference: You know--just as we did with integers--we were going to subtract polynomials. Remember, this is similar to subtracting integers.
Multiplication of Polynomials: Here we will multiply monomials, binomials, and polynomials. Just work through these slowly and you should have no problem.
Multiplication of a binomial with another binomial: We will use the FOIL method to multiply two binomials. There is also an example of multiplication of a binomial with a polynomial.
Dividing monomials and binomials with monomials: Not Finished. Division of polynomials. Here we simply divide polynomials with a monomial.
Dividing polynomials with a binomial (MATH030): Not Finished. Division of a polynomial by a binomial. This is for the Elementary Algebra folks. We will be doing long division here. It's fun, don't worry.
