Hardware and Software Suggestions

Good microphone
Software to record your screen. I suggest Camtasia or Jing. As an educator you can purchase this software at a discount. Try the 30-day free trial to see if you like it. Jing is free. Jing Pro is a more advanced version of Jing available for a small yearly cost that allows more flexibility and storage space.
Place to put it. I suggest iTunes or Screencast.com. Screencast is free with installation of Jing and gives you a 2 GB limit. There is a cost to have higher storage limits and capacities.
Graphics tablet. If you want to create a virtual whiteboard movie. I suggest nothing smaller than 6"x8". Look on eBay for some nice, but cheap models.
You will need a place to draw. I recommend NotateIt. This program is about $50 and has all sorts of tools for drawing and highlighting. They too offer a free trial period. Give it a try. You can also use Paint which is free. Another suggestion is to use OneNote or Windows Journal (included with Vista). These programs give you a virtual whiteboard with various pens to draw with.
If you need special symbols, use Microsoft Word's equation creator. Create the equation in Word and then copy and paste to the program you are using as a virtual whiteboard.
